After being in the school district for so many years it is now time for our group to step on to the next phase of their life and begin their journey down a new path. They have dreams of trying something new, something that will be challenging and exciting. They look forward to a change in routine and an opportunity to “do their own thing.” However, a part of them is nostalgic about leaving U-46. There are so many good memories, so many good people - but it is time to step out into a new adventure.

 

Yes, this year U-46 celebrated the class of 2010 retirees at a recognition dinner thanking them for all they have done. For years they have worried about, nurtured, challenged and celebrated with the children of our district. They have served as administrators, support staff, food service staff, secretaries, bus drivers, and teachers. Some have been serving the district for 40 years. They each played a unique role in providing a positive learning environment for students as they made their way through the schools and on to their graduation.

 

We thank our retirees for their work and hope that whatever path they choose, the next phase of their lives will be exciting and rewarding.
